Further information:
At the new biofuel plant of the company AVAX IKE in Xanthi, was installed a cogeneration unit Avus 500 plus . The raw material for biogas production comes from a cow farming unit in the area. The unit now has two identical Liebherr engines and is capable of generating 2X500 KW of electricity. Τhe installation took place in a pre-packaged house and it is accompanied by special dehumidification equipment for biogas and activated carbon filters for hydrogen sulfide control. Τhe cogeneration unit is part of an anaerobic digestion investment totaling EUR 2.000.000 financed by 55% of European funds and the remainder own resources. Τhe first cogeneration plant was installed in February 2016 and is expected to operate over 8200 hours per year. Τhe unit was expanded with the installation of a second machine in July 2019.
Deyah (Heraklion Crete)
Field of application: Biological wastewater treatment
Country: Greece
Location: Heraklion
CHP type: 2 x agenitor 306
Gas type: Biogas
Electrical capacity: 2 x 250 kWel
Thermal power: 2 x 265 kWth
Installation: Engine room
Further information:
Heraklion biodegradation is one of the largest sewage treatment plants in Greece and the most modern in Mediterranean area. It is part of the integrated wastewater management plan for the Heraklion region which includes:
- separate central and secondary sewer lines and pumping stations.
- Biological cleaning of Heraklion
- outflow pipeline (onshore and underwater)
AKTOR SA undertook the supply and installation of the extractor for the upgrading of the biodegradation of Heraklion. The project was delivered in 2016 and was funded by the transfer of NSRF 2007-2013 funds. In this context, a biogas power plant was built.
Two agenitor 306 cogeneration units, of 2x250kwe electrical power and 41% efficiency are installed. The energy produced is used for self-consumption and the units are installed in a sound insulator and they are controlled by special Zero export software that optimizes their operation according to the amount of bio gas produced.
Sohos
Country: Greece
Location: Thessaloniki
CHP type: 2 x agenitor 306
Gas type: Biogas
Electrical capacity: 2 x 250 kW
Thermal power: 2 x 265 kW
Installation: Engine room
The installation took place on behalf of Vionergia Sohos in the prefecture of Thessaloniki. Bioconstuct based in Germany and their partner in Greece Kiefer Tek undertook the construction of anaerobic digestion. Τhe raw material for biogas production comes from 70% from a cattle farm and the rest of the energy is provided by maize silage. The company is making use of the heat available and the CO2 produced in a nearby greenhouse, thus increasing the efficiency of the unit well above 80% The plant is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level and will operate at very high temperatures during the summer where, according to Bioconstruct, this results in very high quality requirements, particularly for the cogeneration plant and related this kind of equipment. The 2G Avus 1000b cogeneration unit is powered by a J416 GS, Jenbacher, sixteen-cylinder V 70.48 L engine and has a power output of 999 kW. Ιt is installed inside a container and it is accompanied by special dehumidification equipment for biogas and activated carbon filters for hydrogen sulfide control.
